About the Journal

Area of interest
Picenum Seraphicum aims to contribute to the understanding of the historical significance of the Franciscan presence in the Marche region. To accomplish this task, the journal focuses on the network of relationships between Franciscans and other institutional entities in the area, both ecclesiastical and secular. The context relevant to a better understanding of the events of Minorite life in the Marche region includes the economic, social, political and cultural environment in which the Franciscans were involved, placing themselves in a web of mutual influences. For this reason, Picenum Seraphicum is gradually including in its issues more wide-ranging studies in the field of Franciscan studies, encouraging discussion on different topics and research methodologies, and promoting comparison with different geographical contexts.
