Abstract

The contribution briefly illustrates the meaning of the historiographical studies of schools and educational institutions in united Italy in the context of historio graphical-educational research and in the overall intellectual itinerary of Giacomo Cives (Rome, 1927-2022), highlighting the centrality of its cultural and political commitment to school reform as a tool for democratization of Italian life and society.
