This paper aims to trace the evolution of studies on children’s literature within the Centro Italiano per la Ricerca Storico-Educativa (CIRSE), from its establishment to the present day, through an in-depth analysis of the contributions published in its journal, which have been systematically reviewed, as well as of the conference and seminar initiatives promoted by the Association, whose programs and proceedings have been examined. The study reveals a trajectory that partly intersects with the complex developments of the discipline within academia, especially when it became a university subject, and partly highlights the long journey of children’s literature toward gaining full recognition within the field of historical-educational studies.
