Abstract

This essay reconstructs the state of historical-pedagogical studies at the Faculty of Magistero of the University of Bologna up to the present developments, taking into account the changes that have occurred as a result of advances in the educational sciences. Specifically, it considers the repercussions of the national debate among pedagogists on the structure of the teaching of the history of pedagogy at the University of Bologna, through an analysis of the minutes of the faculty council meetings; furthermore, it examines course syllabi to identify the developments that have characterized historical-pedagogical studies in Bologna during the transition from Magistero to the Faculty of Educational Sciences. The picture that emerges has gradually become richer, shaped by the cultural debate that has engaged our disciplinary field, steering it toward further reconfigurations and the development of new areas of research.
