This article examines the longstanding and fruitful collaboration between the University of Turin and the Tancredi di Barolo Foundation, which manages the MUSLI (Museum of School and Children’s Books), established in 2003. Originating from a scientific agreement in 2002, this institutional relationship has supported numerous joint initiatives in the fields of the history of schooling, education and children’s literature. Drawing on archival materials – such as textbooks, school notebooks and illustrated children’s books – the article documents a range of research projects, academic collaborations, and digital humanities initiatives. Particular attention is given to projects involving faculty and students from the Department of Philosophy and Educational Sciences, including digitization efforts, thematic exhibitions, and app development. Through these case studies, the article highlights how this university–museum partnership has contributed to the advancement of educational research, the dissemination of cultural heritage, and the integration of historical sources in pedagogical practices.
