Abstract

The article aims to historically reconstruct the maturation, within UNESCO (United Nations for Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization), of a firm and incisive awareness of the need, in the face of the new emerging socio-political and cultural challenges and the crisis registered in different contexts by traditional pedagogical and training models, to nourish and promote projects and interventions inspired by an educational approach of a strictly intercultural nature. In light of the copious official documentation developed and disseminated by this international body over the last seventy years, the initiatives launched by UNESCO will therefore be examined with reference to the promotion of a new educational custom inspired by dialogue and collaboration between peoples. and to the diffusion of the culture of justice, peace and respect for human rights.
