Abstract

This paper describes the reborn of the Museum of School and Education “Mauro Laeng” (MuSEd) in the 1980s and its ability to promote the material history of education, collecting new historical funds and reaching out to an ever-wider audience. Corrently, the MuSEd missions are preserving educational memory, supporting scientific research, teaching, and public engagement. All these functions of the Museum are described in light of the new epistemological perspectives of historical-educational studies, highlighting the contribution offered by the Museum to the renewal of sources, interpretative perspectives, and paths for research.
