The book História econômica da escola: Uma abordagem antropológica em circuito transnacional (1870-1910), by Diana Vidal and Wiara Alcântara, explores the economic dimension of school material culture. It examines the transnational circulation of pedagogical artifacts, such as books and wall paintings, between 1870 and 1910. Using an interdisciplinary approach – economic history, material anthropology, and transnational history – the authors analyze the impact of monopolies and local markets on school practices and educational policies, integrating school objects into broader cultural and economic flows.
