A wealth of documentation, contained in the Potenza Education Authority Fund, recently organized and made accessible to scholars, sheds new light on the unique characteristics of post-World War II elementary education in Basilicata. Statistical data and reports compiled by teachers and principals allow for a more thorough analysis of educational events, which, despite the challenges, offered glimpses of growth and change, provided that schools were not left alone in their task, but assisted, supported, and, above all, listened to the needs that Lucanian educators were quick to suggest.
