G.D. Romagnosi was a polychrome scholar: he advanced a unitary conception of knowledge and science and developed it consistently. On the occasion of the anniversary of his birth, the A. highlights the role of Romagnosi as a bridge between the eighteenth-century rationalism and nine- teenth-century romanticism, giving importance to the most significant elements of his program: the law’s protection, based on principles and values corresponding to the degree of human civilization; the interest in comparative history and in political sciences.
