Abstract

Il Classico scelto per questo numero è il X capitolo del volume sulla Storicità dell’arte classica pubblicato nel 1950, dove Ranuccio Bianchi Bandinelli sostituisce alla prospettiva idealistica un’impostazione storicistica dell’arte provinciale di età romana. L’artigianato, infatti, traducendo le conquiste formali ellenistiche in termini umani e aderenti alla realtà quotidiana con un linguaggio scarno e finalistico, può diventare stile attraverso la valorizzazione di grandi personalità artistiche.

The Classic chosen for this issue is the Preface to the volume Storicità dell’arte classica, published in 1950. In this text Ranuccio Bianchi Bandinelli replaces the idealistic perspective with an historical idea of the Provincial Art of Roman. The handicraft, in fact, translating the Hellenistic formal achievements in human terms and adhering to the daily reality with a language gaunt and purposeful, can become style through the enhancement of great artistic personalities.
