The aim of this research was to analyze the nature of the interactions between the population of Pordenone – a peripheral community in Northern Italy – and the Allied military occupation forces after the end of the Second World War. By examining the distinctive features of the occupation of Italy’s eastern regions the study aims to reconstruct the social dynamics that emerged in connection with the Allied presence, highlighting some of the contradictions in Anglo-American policy toward the occupied countries.
