This study focuses on the unusual feminine declension of the literary archetype of the killing of the dragon in the Floriant et Florete, a French Arthurian romance of the late thirteenth century. The aim is to demonstrate the anti-misogynous meaning of the choice made by the anonymous author and to trace and evaluate any parallels even in traditions other than the Arthurian one.
