"Analisi storica. Rivista dell’Istituto friulano per la storia del movimento di liberazione» continues the publication of «Storia contemporanea in Friuli»
The choice of a new name is intended to reposition the journal within the context of contemporary studies and also within the overall activities of the Friulian Institute for the History of the Liberation Movement. The overall aim is to make the journal available as open access, in addition to its print version, with the ultimate goal of reaching a wider readership. For several years, we have aimed to broaden its scope from the regional dimension – initially prevalent as the journal since its inception in 1971, mainly used to foster studies on the Resistance in Friuli - to a national on and, potentially, an international one.
The name «Analisi storica» also aims to emphasize the role of the journal within the activities of the Institute. These include documentation (with a library and an ever-growing archive), education, outreach activities showcasing studies and research, conferences, exhibitions, the publication of monographs, and comprehensive works. Within the context of these activities the journal serves as a space to disseminate original research, especially papers of an analytic character. It is intented as a specialized forum bringing together scholars and researchers, fostering historiographical debate as well as providing insights for educational and outreach activities in general. In this perspective, as mentioned above, the partnership with Università di Macerata Editions (EUM) aims to expand the circulation of the journal, with an online version alongside the print version (all papers published in «Storia contemporanea in Friuli» are available at web portal rivistefriulane.it, with a three-year embargo).
