Il problema filosofico della distinzione tra allegoria e figura: apofatico vs carismatico

Abstract

In his work, Auerbach has always kept the figure and the allegory very distinct. Where did he place the difference between the two tropes? Although the German philologistphilosopher in his works, from Dante: Poet of the Secular World, to Figura, from Mimesis, to Literary Language and Its Public in Late Latin Antiquity and in the Middle Ages, has studied it from the point of view of stylistic differentiations involved and has explored above all its different cultural derivation and its historical changes, the article, following the path of Auerbach's “hidden theory”, also tries to bring out the logical and thought differences that his texts, often implicitly, presuppose.
